One year ago today, Ryan made a decision to stop using. It didn't matter that he made this same decision two previous times before. What mattered is that he was making a decision that day. And he chose to keep moving forward.
As his Mom I can tell you there have been times when I wanted quicker progress; I admit I've been impatient. But I've learned that it doesn't matter how slowly we go, as long as we don't stop. And Ryan hasn't stopped this past year. Sometimes it may look like he's standing still, but each day that he has stayed in recovery is in fact moving forward.
Ryan is at Lincoln Tech studying to be an auto mechanic and I couldn't be more proud of him. He just rebuilt his entire car engine and I am amazed at how brilliant he is. So if anyone needs any work done to their car I know a great guy!!
Ryan, keep going and never look back, your future is wide open and you make me proud every day. I love you.
